Re: Vetric software and iModela

When I had an EGX 300 and was struggling to get the registration right every time I had a second sacrificial bed in which I had milled out the common shapes I used (pet tags). This bed was located on the underlying bed by four plastic pins. The EGX is capable of both milling these and drilling the l...

Re: Vetric software and iModela

Not so sure on VcarvePro, but Vectric Aspire certainly works with the little iModela. Most of the Vectric software is realistically aimed at larger machines and I am not sure how the tiny motor on the iModela would cope with trying to do vCarving on anything other than the softest of materials, such...

Future parts availability for MDX15/20 machines.

Now that Roland is discontinuing the MDX15/20 machines and replacing them with the new SRM machine, how long will parts remain available for the MDX15/20 machines in the UK?

Re: Trying to source flip fixture for MDX-15

UPDATE: Trying to find a flip fixture for the MDX-15 is akin to looking for rocking horse droppings. :? Fortunately after much persistence, I have now managed to locate a jeweller who is going to get me a copy of they jig that they use machined up for me (for a price). The MDX-15 and MDX-20 models ...

Trying to source flip fixture for MDX-15

Hi. Have recently acquired a used MDX-15. Unlike the TS30 (MDX-40) I used to own, there appears to be no self centre vice available for the MDX-15, either from Techsoft or elsewhere. As much of the stuff I do is double sided, I am ideally seeking a flip fixture for this machine. I know I can buy a f...

Routine maintenance of MDX 15/20 machines.

Hi. What maintenance routines do people carry out on their MDX 15 / MDX 20 machines? I have applied a couple of drops of light machine oil as used on sewing machines to the sideways axis rods and on the vertical rods then move the machine slides a few times, using the front panel. Is this adequate? ...

Serial cable for MDX-15 - correct pin outs?

Hi. I have just acquired a used MDX-15, for which I will probably need to get a serial cable. On other threads, it has been suggested a null modem cable will suffice , but looking on another Roland site it is indicated the following as the pin out. http://files.rolanddgn.com/Website/Images/service_f...

Re: IMODELA making usable finished plastic parts

On the plus side at least i now know i`m not the only one wanting the imodela to have these abilities, maybe someday Roland-japan will make things that customers want instead of just churning out new machines that they think customers ought to have. For me, the biggest 'fail' of the imodela and ind...
