iModela enhancements

Even though I own bigger MDX machines, I am still a keen fan of the little iModela machines. They work brilliantly with wax and take up such a small space in the workshop. I actually own three of these little gems. After what seems like an endless search, I finally managed to acquire not only one of...

Re: Scanner compatability

In the Techsoft documentation, the black metal block is described as the tool setup override device Patrick Every MDX-15 / 20 I've ever seen had one of these metal blocks so assumed it was a Roland rather than a Techsoft device? The block allows you to bring the tool down using the power buttons, cl...

Scanner compatability

Quick question: Does the scanner attachment off the MDX-15 fit the MDX-20 and vice versa?? i.e. is it exactly the same item. Someone in another part of the country wants to borrow mine for a project, so thought I'd check first before paying out on postage charges... Another quick question whi...

Re: Is anyone using the iModela long term out there?

Clink.jpg Clink2.jpg Decided to power up the iModela this morning to create a wax master. We use two bigger Roland machines to create jewellery waxes, but the little iModela is a surprisingly capable little machine, with good resolution. Yes it's a little slower than most other machines out there, ...

Is anyone using the iModela long term out there?

I bought my own iModela about three years ago, when there was a generally flurry of interest in the product, as reflected in the numerous postings within these forums at the time. Like lots of other users I had a play with mine, then it got stowed away and forgot about, as I use other Roland product...

Alternative work holding on the MDX-15

jig3.jpg jig1.jpg One of the biggest shortfalls with the MDX-15 and MDX-20 machines, has always been it's lack of work holding attachments. Double sided tape has its limitations, especially when you need to mill an awkward shape, or the tape lifts off in a warm room.. Yep been there, got the tee sh...

Re: MDX-15 - two quick questions

Thanks Patrick.

I actually got Modela Player from my iModela disk, but support have provided me with the Dr Picza software through the ticket link you provided, as the scanning software is specific to the MDX-15.

Thanks for your assistance, it is much appreciated.

MDX-15 - two quick questions

Hi. Have just bought a used MDX-15 from a school via eBay. I have owned bigger Roland Machines before, but unfortunately the original software has been lost for this machine. Question: Is there somewhere I can download a copy of Modela 4 for this machine and also the Picza utility for the scanner. I...
