20-30" Eco-Solvent Printer

Post by FINNIX » Sat Apr 22, 2017 11:34 am

Hi I have a few questions:

Was considering the SP-300i but I think it's discontinued. My next option is the SG-300 but this uses TrueVis ink and non-Epson print heads which has me a bit concerned. Have you noticed any dramatic difference between the new and old inks/heads?

How many heaters does the SG-300 and/or the VS-300i use?

Also, can the printing be slowed down/controlled? My goal is to print on uncoated smooth paper (flyers, posters) without bleeding.

Thanks

SG-300 print quality is superior to SP-300i, don't worry about it. It's also faster. There are the standard print heater and dryer, you can add extra dryers if needed but I doubt it.

You can control head carriage speed if needed. Just enter the required speed in the RIP and you're good to go.

That's good to know. Is it possible to use a ColorMunki profile tool (custom icc) or does the RIP demand control?

Thanks for your help.

VersaWorks includes most of the profile creation tools except ICC calculation. You'll need your device application (a la ProfileMaker) for that.
