LEF 300 or Versa UV S series

Post by Andre » Sun Oct 15, 2017 8:59 am

I am thinking to buy 2 Roland LEF 300 printers or 1 Versa UV S series smallest version. We print a lot of promotional gifts and now we have 2 LEF 20 and one Mimaki, the last one we used for click clack mint tins and bottle printing. The Roland we used for 75% for pens, we print around the 1 million pens in a year.

Hi Andre,

Sounds good...probably best to take a look at both and do a live comparison, or your local Roland offices will be able to do a speed/price/benefits comparison for you. Both options will have their advantages.
The S-Series is pretty exciting-looking forward to playing with ours soon!

Out of curiosity, why the roland over mimaki? I know a few people with mimaki UJF's that swear they are far better and rolands are crap (I know this not to be the case). Its difficult to get a side by side comparison as people generally don't own both.

Last year i saw also the LEF 300, nice printer but for pens it is very difficult to print bi directional, for flat objects these worked very good. I choose last year for the Mimaki 6042MKII because is faster then Roland, cheaper ink and the Kebab, these tool is these best for printing 360 degrees objects. Mimaki and Roland have both advantages and disadvantages.

Now we print with Roland Lef 20 around the 50 pens in one jig, with LEF 300 is that around the 75 pens. All our pens we print in standard print modus. I am waiting now when demo is available for the Versa UV S series. The price of one UV S Series is cheaper then 2x LEF 300.

I must admit, I am quite surprised the Versa S doesn't come in a 4 head config like the 300, and no primer option.
