BN20 metallic ink..

Post by weevee » Tue Jul 18, 2017 5:22 pm

Hi chaps

I'm off to the Classic TT in a month or so, and my BN20 will be left unattended for maybe 10 days. I'm concerned the metallic ink will cause me problems if the cartridge is not shaken regularly (..and it won't be!) What's the best procedure in these circumstances? Can it be left for that long ~ or do I replace the metallic cartridge with the one I have containing cleaning fluid? And if the cleaning fluid cartridge is used, can I simply replace it with the metallic ink cartridge when I return?

Thanks a lot
Steve

Nothing will happen to it.
Shake the cartridge, circulate the ink, perform a good manual cleaning before the shutdown, make sure the captop seal is clean and straight, if not, replace it (6 months is the period anyway). Leave the machine with the main switch on and you should be good.

OK Martin, thanks for the reassurance. I'll leave it as you say and keep my fingers crossed. (..I think I've a touch of OCD when it comes to shaking ink cartridges!)

Cheers
Steve
