Printing onto balloons

Post by Mal » Wed Oct 12, 2011 7:47 pm

Hi all,

Whilst at Grafityp yesterday I had a conversation with Adam regarding printing onto balloons. He mentioned he has recently seen an artical about this matter.

Has anyone see this artical, if so in what publication or could you scan and email me a copy?

I ask because our weekend job is balloon decoration for wedding and parties etc and have a market for custom printed foil balloons.

Many thanks in advance....

Mal, I found it. It is in Octobers Image Reports, page 7. It isnt exactly what I thought but well worth a look and have a conversation. Also, do not forget about the table cloth printing we discussed.
Good Luck.

Thanks Adam,

Wedding fair season is almost over for this year but we plan to add table cloths and printed sashes to our range by next season.

Please do not forget the 'always in season' Table cloths for promotional use and corporate events. Get some practice in before the next wedding season begins.

Adam,

Thanks for the prompt re "always in season"

I realised that yesterday when out on a balloon delivery. The customer had table cloths, flags, pop ups and curved exhibition stands all of which I can do on my sp540i. All I need to do is find the right substrates and have a play.

Does anyone have any recommendations for suppliers of printable table cloths, roll up banner and flag material?

I know that Metamark (www.metamark.co.uk) have a few nice flag and roll-up products amongst their range...

Adam, Would a version of this process work on the SP-540i? I was thinking perphaps I could use temp spray adhesive to attach a balloon to vinyl or paper and as long as the pinch rollers don't run over the balloon it may work.

What profile would be best for it or is it a case of try it and see? :?

Thanks EricT. I use some metamark vinyls now so I will look at what else they do.
