Bad ink fade

Post by Brandon1 » Wed Feb 08, 2017 7:34 pm

Hello I am writing to see if anyone can help me out. Using a roland vp-540i versaCamm and have had issues lately with the ink looking faded as soon as it is printed. Have tried changing media profile and it just looks bad still. It is well kept cleaned and taken care of. Used to print flawless images. Any advice? Attached should be a test piece made for example of how printer has been workongoing lately.

Is the nozzle test print okay before and after the print? Same with every singlee media, no variation?

Too hot print heater?

Yes printer tests look great. Then when you are actually printing something it comes out faded.

Care to post pictures of the effect?

It's usually a media defect and/or too hot heater setting, if the heads are firing fine.

For some reason it won't load my picture on here to show.
I am curious now if the mpi1005sc has changed and a new update has come out for vp-540i to print with the new material? We are on an offline computer.

Could be ink starvation. It doesn't matter if the test is fine, because ink is full in dampers, but once you start printing you are facing ink starvation. Are you using bulk ink system? Check your filters. Also I would look at the damper to make sure they are full and no holes. I would replace dampers and start from there. Are you facing the same problem with every media?
