Hi Deep Six,

As mrtn says that will work out a bit costly, just run a small patch of silver/white each week if you like to keep it primed.
The metallic pantones will not work, you need to use the Roland's specific swatches.

Hi Guys
New printer got delivered today so just trying a few things, struggling with printing silver at the moment. I grabbed one of my files that contains silver and black. Previously printed this using silver media and a printed black mask to give me the required result.
So I grabbed this file today, pulled the 877C swatch out of the swatch library and used it for silver fill.
Did a test print but didn't get what I expected, the silver came out as a beige colour so now scratching my head wondering where I went wrong, also not sure how to print out white too.
All help and advise greatly appreciated

Oh, just read joes post, didn't see this before as it must have been on page 2. So looks like I need to switch to corell or illustrator, damn, spent 5 plus years getting my head around Macromedia Freehand.

Unless you can create custom spot colours in Freehand?

Yep, thanks joe, I think I can import into freehand, just have to look at the versa works disc and see if I can locate the library and have a crack at importing it

OK. Found the versaworks disk, located the libraries and found a freehand folder. Excellent, fumbled for a while but managed to figure out how to load the library into freehand but when I opened it found it only contains one swatch called "CutContour" Damn, back to square one

OK, update, made a spot colour and called it RDG_MetallicSilver, works a treat, anyone know what naming convention I can use to make a spot colour for white ??
