Bn-20 White ink

Post by willkho » Fri Sep 22, 2017 10:48 am

Hi all,

I got a problem here.
I've been printing with white ink for 2 years, all good.
Shake it everyday, print at least once a week.

However, this morning the white ink gradually gone when I was printing some graphic.
I checked the utility software, still 20%.
Start a new job, it was the same. Always started with nice sharp white and gradually gone.
I assumed the ink ink might gone bad so I put new white ink in (I purchased this white ink a month ago as a stock and shake it everyday together with the one in the machine)

With the new white ink, it's completely gone. I've even tried manual clean to few powerful clean but nothing.

Perhaps you guys have any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Try a couple of ink circulations and a normal clean, from the description it sounds like the damper is blocked with the sediment.

Hi all,

Finally, all good.
Few power clean yesterday. Nothing at all.

I let it rest for a night, came back in the morning and just do medium clean.
Firing like new, 100% nozzle check and of course bright white because of the new ink.

I remembered when I had the direct to garment printer with white.
If the ink got problem, can't keep forcing it, let it rest for few hours.
Perhaps there is an explanation behind it?

BTW, i'm also curious how to do white ink circulation?

thanks again.

Yes, you have some stuck pigment in the bottom of the damper which gets picked up by big ink flow effectively blocking the damper filter. It would settle in a few hours and rest in the bottom of the damper without moving as long as the ink flow remains slow and steady.

Ink circulation can be done in BN utility IIRC.
