Empty Ink Cartridges

Post by KDanials » Fri Aug 05, 2011 9:05 am

I have an ever growing number of empty ink cartridges. Can these be recycled or shall I just bin them?

I've heard that the mobile Roland engineers collect spent cartridges on their travels and dispose of them back at base. Might be worth giving them a call and asking one to drop by when they're in your area.

There are some charities that accepts ink cartridges donations. I think that is a better option since you can help our environment ad also give to charity.

Henesy,

I didn't know that - do you know the names of them / how I could get in contact?

Recycling them is the best option as it saves environment from dumping the used printer cartridges into land fields. :)

Thank you for the reply Marco but I would advise against putting them in a bin as there may be some ink residue left inside the carts so essentially you will be disposing chemicals (albeit a small amount) that should be disposed of properly.

You can give them to the local recycling centre and they may charge you for the privilege or you can as previously mentioned pass them to a Roland engineer who will dispose of them for free.

Thanks again for the post.

I got an agreement with the ink supplier that they will collect the cartridges once empty, but will supply in 1 box of about 10kg.
