to be fair, this wasn't really a problem till after the print heads and all the other parts were changed after the last teardown/rebuild so it could be due to this.

Again thank you so much, I just didn't know if this was a normal thing to expect or not.

Ok, so the carriage was rising too far and the cups were pressing directly onto the heads leading to the ink spatter and build up.

Although Since being adjusted the carriage hits into the print module each time the printer cycles left to right during a print operation.

So not sure how much of a fix it really was

The print carriage touches the capping unit every time reaching the far right end, it's normal. All VersaCAMMs and TrueVIS machines do this by design. Only PRO-series don't.
