Vehicle Wrap Course (2 day, Walsall)

Post by Joe Wigzell » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:38 am

Hello ello!

I accompanied 4 other attendees at the Roland Academy in Walsall on Wednesday and Thursday of this week for the Roland Vehicle Wrap Course.

Run by wrap legend James Deacon it was a great course which has left me (and I'm sure the others!) with an urge to get out there and try a complete car for ourselves!
The course is a well balanced mix of theory and hands-on time to give you a full understanding of what it takes to get into vehicle wrapping, whether for business or pleasure.

The techniques taught have been developed by James over the many years he has been involved in the industry, with over 2000 wraps under his belt. These tips and tricks are priceless if you want to get into wrapping, and many of the aspects can be used in the everyday running of your business (especially sign writing etc).

I managed to take a few photos over the 2 days so below is a selection for you:

If you are interested in attending the course you can find details on our website by clicking Here or you can email David Butler for bookings directly via email at dbutler@walsallcollege.ac.uk

Having not wrapped anything myself before I can highly recommend the course, it is a skill that requires a bit of patience and practice but the principles learned will be hugely beneficial for attendees.

Any comments or feedback from people that have or intend to attend the course would be appreciated!

Now to plan a design to jazz up the bonnet of my car ;) !

As one of the 4 on the course with Joe this week, I echo his comments.

I took a lot more away from the course than just the techniques etc (I'm off to the scrapyard tomorrow to get some panels to practice on!). James' insights to running a wrap business, the pitfuls, guide to estimating and design etc was extremely valuable.

Now a bit more practice before I wrap the Wife's car !

Glad you enjoyed it Nick and great that you found the tips useful. Have you had chance to wrap the car yet?

Hey Nick,

How's tricks? Just thought I'd check in and see how you're getting on, also wanted to ask if you've managed any full wraps yet!?
I am hopefully going to be designing a Jaguar wrap for a show in November, can't wait (although a pro will apply it)!
