Intermediate Digital Print

Post by Isabel Newton » Fri Jul 29, 2011 9:18 pm

Hello,

I've just bought a new machine and have got an e-mail regarding the Intermediate Digital Print course.

Has anyone been on the course - what does it include?

Hi Isabel,

I teach the Intermediate Digital Print Course at the Roland Academy and I'd be happy to answer your question.

The course is designed to be taken shortly after purchasing your machine, ideally within 2 - 3 weeks. You should of received some basic training on-site and the Intermediate course follows on from this. The course covers the following;
  • Software And Machine Interaction
  • Using Special Colours
  • The Roland Colour System and Metallics
  • Variable Data Printing
  • Custom Cut
  • Basic Colour Management
  • Maintenance - Testing And Correcting Print Head Issues
  • Maintenance - Cleaning Routines (Using Cleaning Kits)
  • Maintenance - Wiper Replacement
  • Maintenance - Machine Calibrations
  • Lamination -Why Image Finishing?
  • Lamination - Types Of Laminators
  • Lamination -Webbing Of Machine
  • Lamination - Techniques
The course lasts one day and you can attend either at our Walsall Academy, or our Clevedon Academy, which ever is more convenient for yourself.

Whilst the day is mainly about learning, it also provides a great networking opportunity. You'll meet fellow printers and you'll have the chance to see some of the creative samples that we at Roland have created, as well as seeing new media's that you may not of come across previously.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Morining Marc,
Potentially purchasing a second user machine and not from a Roland dealer. Can I still go on this course or is it for new machines only?

More information can be found about this course on our website HERE.
also you can look at other courses that may be of interest to you, such as the vehicle wrap course.

If you do decide to attend it would be nice to hear what you thought about it, if you think others could benefit attending.

Hi Mal

You should have heard from us by now. If you leave it too long, you get less from the Intermediate Digital Print course. Perhaps your machine wasn't registered with us after purchase, or you simply slipped through the net.

Give us a call, armed with you serial number, on 0845 230 9060 and we'll take it from there.

How are you getting on with your printer and what kind of work are you doing with it?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply. I will call tomorrow. I have been using the SP540i for PVC banners, garment transfers and more recently static cling, posters and vinyl stickers.

I have had a couple of problems (print profiles) that Tom has assisted with, but apart from that everything has been good. If feel I need to learn more about trouble shooting with regards to print finish problems, double sided printing, perfcutting and infact anything that will ensure I get the best out of the machine,

Thanks once again...

Hi Mal

Just wondered if you had chance to speak with the Roland office about the course booking for your SP540i?

Hopefully you will get chance to attend soon and I would suggest it a great chance to bring up your questions with the Roland trainer and other Roland users so we can give you some answers.

Have a good afternoon
