Replaced head - now not engraving correctly

Post by gorsius » Tue Feb 14, 2017 11:24 am

We had a worn head which I replaced as I always do with the head manager. Running the calibration tool resulted in the attached image.

I then replaced with the old head which was working (just light engraving) and still the same problem. Tried resetting PC, machine several times.

The engraver sounds like it is engraving but is engraving too lightly to actually mark the brass plate. When it comes to the lettering it engraves normally.

It is like the settings on the machine that determine the power sent to the head have somehow been corrupt. Is there anyway to 'factory reset' the machine? I've tried unplugging for a while but no luck.

In the driver for MPX-90 try changing the setting for the impact to the Roland MD one, this will hopefully create a higher impact ratio, then try performing the head adjustment again.

Thanks. In the end I ran the head adjustment and set it to b8 to increase the impact. Then ran a image which engraved. Then went back and ran the head adjustment again. Seems to be working now.
