MDX 540A not connecting to pc

Hello again,
I'm having a problem with The MDX 540 milling machine. It has lost connection with the pc ! Computer is running windows 10. Mayka will open but not send anything to the mill. V-panel will not open with no connection. The MDX 540 has disappeared from the list of installed devices. Can anyone suggest what to do ? Roland support does not recognise the serial no. so I'm having some difficulty sourcing driver upgrades etc.

Hi Gerald

No problem
Drivers and updaters are here for Windows 10
UBS disconnect
Run the installer to see it you can uninstall first.
Run installer and click MDX-540 and it will show USB. OK
In Windows you wont see a printer icon yet under Control Panels Printer & Faxes
Connect USB cable, Power on MDX-540.
Wait a few moments and the MDX-540 driver will appear in Windows

Check you have the latest Panel updates. Install the old one and the run the update.
We use Windows 10 without any problem, with Mayka too.

Your machine was supplied through "Roland DG UK (Ireland) May 2009".
Read off the serial number Z??????? right side on machine next to power lead connector.
Register it here for future requests, enter supplier as above.

Thanks Patrick,
Reinstalled everything as you said but still had a frustrating time getting the computer to communicate with the machine. PC would not recognise the MDX 540 as a printer. Kai Perry at Roland Support sorted it out for me eventually. Still don't really understand what the glitch was exactly. Possibly some issue with Windows 10 updates. Anyway, all working now and thanks for your support.

Gerald, Windows can be a a mystery to us all sometimes.
When Kai and the team connect and see what is happening, it is much easier.
At least you are working again.:)
