Mdx-40 (with zcl-40) Y sensor Help!

Post by Rastamonk77 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 9:58 am

Hi.
Last week, after years of using Roland machines, and a year as a owner of a Mdx-15 and a Mdx-20.... I've become a happy owner of a (second hand) Mdx-40 with zcl-40 4 axis.

Great condition, great price, great machine.... unfortunately the ZCL-40 is missing few parts: the 2 "Y" sensors and the detection tip.... as well as the center drill... but i can fix that!

As I believe those parts could be simply be replaced from steel rods or tube of the correct sizes ( for the Y sensors i believe I would need to machine 4 plastic caps to isolate the endings).

I was wondering if any good Samaritan that has or know the correct size of those part could contact me and help me to solve the problem.

I've uploaded a detail of the manual indicating the parts and the measures I'll need to know.

Thank you in advance. :)

Hi Kai and thank you for your replay.

I have contacted them already... but as i'm just staring my business and have already invested a bit of money in to my machinery... I was hoping to save me this extra expense.

I've already got the size of the detection pin and I've put together the center drill.... What I would need to know find out are the sizes of the 2 Y sensors.

Was that machine off eBay? They seller obviously didn't want to make money off it!! I tried to help him get top dollar for it but was ignored.

Good deal for you though :D
Hardware: TS-400 which seems to be the same as an EGX-400/600...

I have missplaced my detection pin. Can someone tell me what are the diameter and length of the pin?

Thanks,

Bob

I have found the dimensions of the detection pin on page 55 of the ZCL-40A Rotary Axis User's Manual. Hurray!
