scoring on silver each side of letters

Post by sam mccrone » Tue Jan 17, 2017 10:48 pm

Hi,

New to the forum and working with a MPX-90 engraver, bought this machine second hand and have been using it on and off. I have noticed the following happening when I engrave on silver.
All around the area that I have engraved there are very slight but noticeable scratches, like something has been rubbing against the silver pendant.
I have had to polish this out, they are like a overall burnish, if that makes sense.
Has anyone experienced this and is there a solution to my problem?
Also I need some training, is there any online training and where is the best place in the UK Europe to get silver/stainless steel blanks.
I will need spare for the machine also so any direction there would be good.
I thank you for your assistance in advance

Cheers

Sam

Have you tried changing the nosecone or using the flat surface cone?

Thanks Kai,

Where is the best place to purchase these from, I will try both. I am a complete novice but eager to pick this up.

Once again,

Thanks

You should be able to get them from the UK dealers either Mastergrave or Metaza.com.
