GS-24 CutStudio Corel X7 a true nightmare

Post by jfl_207 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 12:24 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to setup the new GS-24 for a customer

Config is as follow
GS-24
CutStudio + plugin
Corel X7.

even if i can transfer from corel to cut studio, i'm facing a lot of issues

all layer colors are lost during transfer
some grouping occurs betwen different object (somme letters from text group with some polygon, and so on)
Unable to show the registration marks in corel to be able to print before cutting
All i get in cut studio are the outline of my objects.

After looking to the net i've found some strange workaround like save as .jpg, import in cutstudio, and add cutline.
I'm now bypassing this by having my customer add 4 10mm circle in all of his design
print from Corel
Switch to CutStudio
Select outline to be cut and add a specific color
Do you find this a professionnal way to work.

The first cutter from my customer was a simple silhouhette studio from cameo (about 250€) and there was not such a mess to use it.
Here we are far above this price for something that is of no use right now

Kind regards
Jean-Francois

Two ways, either just print and cut from Corel or Print and cut from CutStudio, use the correct templates for Corel Draw and use a hairline for cutting data.

Hi Perry,

Not a big deal if you can say me how to do it

All my customer want to do is being able to draw a design in CorelDraw, add automaticly (in CorelDraw the registration marks) print from Corel.
Open Cutstudio from Corel, and cut following the outline.

If there is a way of doing it, i'll be glad to test it

In the output you only need to print from Corel and cut from Corel, have a look at the process from Xpres. The process is shown for the GX-24 but the GS-24 is the same.

If you use it that way ensure that you use the templates they have created as well.

If you need any further assistance just let me know.
