Ink spots on prints!

Post by DavyStevenson » Mon Aug 10, 2015 1:21 pm

Hi, Can anyone offer any advice as to what would be causing ink droplets on some of our prints? I've attached a few pics to give you a better idea of what I mean. Just had to dump a 3m banner and 5 posters because of them :-(

Heads have lots of dust around them. This dust accumulates ink mist and when there's plenty of it, it drops on the media.

Perform manual head cleaning.

Hi Martin, Thanks for your reply. I've cleaned the heads using cleaning swabs so hopefully this will cure it. Its the first time its happened as I normally clean the heads quite often. I've been off on holidays for a couple of weeks so I'm guessing no one has bothered to clean them while I was away!

Hi Davy,

Alternatively this can be caused by there being dust on the media. We have even seen this be caused by dog hair or poorly placed fish tank pumps.
