Silver Ink - Brightest on Textile Vinyl?

Post by stitch-up » Fri Jul 15, 2016 1:23 pm

Hi guys

We have a BN-20 and do quite a lot of textile transfers using Xpres XP3030 & 3031 Easy Print Textile vinyl.

We hardly ever use the silver ink on our BN-20 mainly because I've not yet found it to be dramatic enough. I accept that silver ink on a matt textile vinyl will never be as good as on a gloss white vinyl but I'd expect it to be better than the results we've been getting.

I might of course be doing something wrong as I don't really get a good silver on gloss vinyl either so, can anyone suggest the best silver palette colour to chose to get the brightest silver appearance?

Many thanks

Use the RDG_Metallic_Silver from the VersaWorks swatch to get the best metallic Silver, this will be the best version.

Thanks Kai.

I guessed a shiny vinyl would be needed for best results - I had read somewhere on this forum that some people were having better success that I've been getting, hence the question.

I really need to hone my skills in using metallic inks as it's something I hardly ever do and I've forgotten the settings required!

Cheers
