It could be related to the permissions on the Mac, have a look at this guide.

Running Windows 10 / Illustrator CC2014 / Cut Studio Plug-in. Everything has been fine and all of the sudden when I try to add crop marks through the plug-in, Illustrator crashes. Please help!

It could be down to an update, try to re-install the plugin.

Hi All,
Just to introduce myself, I am an Aussie who has started in the vinyl print industry. I have been using a craft vinyl cutter up until now and have just upgraded.

I have just bought the GS-24 cutter and have a Mac and have followed several of the suggested hacks on this forum and i STILL cannot load the plugin.

MAC = OS X Yosemite v10.10.5
AI = CC 2015 3.0

I have downloaded the Adobe Extension Manager for CC and my AI version is also CC but this has not worked as my AI application does not seem to load into the file area - I only have 'Others' listed.

I hope there is someone out there that can point me to a solution. I'm sorry if I am asking stupid questions, but I have read this thread and tried everything that has been suggested and for one reason or another it has not worked for me.

Thanks to all in advance.

Many thanks.

Curently you would have to install CC 2014 in order for the plugin to work, the release of the Adobe App for CC 2015 is expected shortly.

Thanks for your reply Kai. I did eventually work it all out.

Do you know if Roland is planning to add the Cut Studio plugin to the Adobe 'Plugin' list? Adobe has phased out the Extension Manager app and all future plugin's will need to be downloaded from their site.

Thanks again for your assistance.

There should be a new app coming very soon which will included on the Adobe app store.

Hi Kai,

your quote above was from July 2016... is there an update on this?

I never did get cut studio plugin working for Adobe CC and have been saving stuff down to Illustrator v8 and importing into cutstudio for the past year, but really hate doing it that way, buggy as anything and just horrid - the plugin worked beautifully in older versions of illustrator!

Desperately after a better solution, can anyone help with this? I want to be able to design in Illustrator CC and sent to my GX24.... thank you!

I just found this...
http://support.rolanddga.com/docs/docum ... 203.00.pdf

but it doesn't help - went through the instructions but couldn't find the plugin in Windows - Extensions, so it told me to try the Extension Manager, which I did but it failed, and I saw that it was for older versions of Illustrator... :(

I also tried this:
http://download.rolanddg.jp/en/upgrade/ ... ing_en.pdf
no help... (didn't see the CutStudio folders mentioned)

I am running Illustration CC 2018 on Windows 10. version 22.0.1 according to exmancmd!

(hoping I don't have to uninstall and go back to 2017 like something I saw about the plugin suggested I should do - here https://exchange.adobe.com/addons/patch ... lmJQDeYOUk)

I also found these instructions:
https://www.adobeexchange.com/resources/28 and had hopes for them as they were from Oct 17 but still no luck :( see image

Image

righto... error says no compatible app found (see https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2300096) .... how do I fix this?

You can use any version up to "CC17" this is available from the adobe app store, The new version for "CC18" will be available next month.

It seems that on every update Adobe change some fundamental functions of the plugin process.
