Help with gloss layer...versa uv 20

Post by Inigohe » Wed Aug 23, 2017 4:25 pm

Hi..
Best regards from Spain, and thx for let me take part of your comunity.
Then...this is the trouble I have and makes me a big headache.
I have a A3 layout with hundreds of miniatures to make them waterslide decals.
I designed them using illustrator and roland versa swatch palette for illustrator downloaded from Roland Site, thx a lot for your support mates!!! great job yours.
I have done three layers...one its white color, then the second one is color and the third one is glossy layer.
Roland versa works very well when prints white and colors, but when I designed gloss layer with hundreds of miniatures to contour each design, to make each one separate. Roland versa uv makes an unique layer in whole surface of the A3 special paper, not separate like I would.
I dont know what was my error, and Im very disapointed because I asume roland versa uv its capable to make each laquer miniature individually.

I think the trouble is in the versaworks software, probably I have not applied the correct steeps to have success.
Plz, let me know what I have to do to solve those situation.

So you want detailed varnish objects but your VersaWorks makes a complete A3 sized varnish layer with no details?

HI..
But the correct order over decal waterslide paper is...
first white coat, then cmyk coat and finally laquer coat over the painted layers.
Thx.

Hi...
Some addition to solve the trouble...I realized new printing batch with three independient layers in format .pdf and when prints the gloss layer, the trouble appears, not individual gloss layer only a one, solid gloss layer who covers all miniatures.
Very dissapointed in this situation.
Regards.

Using gloss last puts too much ink down and versaworks does it in two passes! Most decals need to be laquered after application anyway keep them thin with the print order I gave you.

Good luck

Hi...Jan
Thx for your response...seams to be a bug in rip software versaworks. If the printer can make high resolution miniatures of 3 mm high I cant understandt why not using the laquer she cannot make the same increasing the white layer 0,2 dec wide and setting up one copy of those layer as Mate Gloss 1 pass.
Best regards
