Print Settings for correct size/placement using Corel X6 and VersaWorks Dual

Post by ichbinsnur » Thu Oct 26, 2017 3:00 pm

Hello.

What Page/Print Settings do i have to use to get my prints placed in the correct size and place when i use CorelX6 with Versa Works Dual?

Problem :

I try to print let's say a jig of 30 Pens on my LEF12 and i layout the Printing in Corel and export to PDF.
When i load the File in VersaWorks Dual the size and placement of the prints always is slightly off.
What do i have to do to get the prints in the correct place and size according to my jig of pens?

Btw. the jig is lasercut by myself using the same placement for the pens as the Design in corel.
So, how do i get that aligned in first place ervery time?
I really can't afford to manually fiddle around with the settings and test print every single run.

Cheers Christian

The chances are, you laser is slightly off to the printer itself, either by alignment, or just due to the width of the beam. I always make identical jigs, then zero them out to the printer. So adjust the master itself on Coreldraw to match the printer. This then becomes your layout drawing (keep your jig drawing seperate so you can always remake them).

That is exacly what i had in mind.
But how do i fetch the correction values?

It seems to be a different measure of misalign/size issue on every single Plate Design.

Your PDF export has Prepress settings or something else with "Bleed" enabled. It's off by bleed amount.

Try X1a.
