Doro Tape in the UK sell plotter pens for the Roland plotters.

You can get them from this website.

I make my own pen-holders that take modern roller-ball and felt-tip pens. I drill out old, dried-up HP and Staedtler plotter pens, as shown in some of the photos in this set:

As for the pens themselves, I get them from Cult Pens (on-line). The Pilot V-Ball pens can draw at the full speed of the DXY-990, unlike, say, cheap "back-to-school" pen sets!

Hi,

This looks like a great plotter! Thank you for sharing these cool pictures.
Do you know what differences are between this model and DXY-1100 - DXY-1350?

I am looking to purchase one and would want to drive it via serial only (and from a Mac).

Thank you,
Virgil

The main difference is the age of the model, the 1100 was in the 1300,1200,1100 series. The 1350 was the next step up, 1350,1250,1150.

The machine also has an electrostatic absorbtion system. (static bed)

Thanks for replying.

So is it safe to "assume" all 1?50 models have a DB-25 connector?
Where can I purchase one from?

Thanks,
Virgil

Hello,

I am going to get one DXY 990 really soon, and I was wondering if anyone would have a great tuto/step by step manual that would help me in the installation process.

Thanks in advance

Eliott
