Shoe Printing?

Post by Joe Wigzell » Fri Apr 26, 2013 1:08 pm

Hello!

A little experiment from today...shoe printing!?

Yes, I thought I'd try out printing directly to a shoe! As a tester I used an old Converse trainer of mine - and it worked ok, but I think that this process/idea would work a lot better with some nice new shoes that aren't all wrinkled and dirty!
So I used the LEF-12 and setup my shoe to get the best flat surface I could to print onto...
I then used the print from centre option and added a small graphic- what do you think? Has the idea got legs...or feet (sorry, had to)

The logo didnt come out that bad! Quite good actually, I'd love to try this.. What kind of printer is it? We have a mimaki JV3-160 SP but im sure that's just for printing on vinyl..

Hey Tori,

Yes that'd just be a roll-to-roll printer, the one I used in this example is a small flat bed printer that uses UV inks. It can print on anything up to 10cm deep!
It's called a Roland VersaUV LEF-12 - check this link to see it on our website.

It's got so many possible applications!
