Hi Mrtn. I'd assumed I had some kind of sharp edge around the captop frame, because the fibres are always caught at the same point (..the nearest right-hand edge of the frame, when viewed from the front). I'm using the felt wiper that came as a spare with the machine, so I presume its a Roland item. (..now that I think of it, I'm fairly sure this issue didn't arise until the replacement felt was fitted). Maybe I'll try switching it for another.

I'm still fairly certain the felt itself is not the issue. Ive replaced hundreds of felts and never had this problem.
