Layering over Printed Textile Vinyl?

Post by stitch-up » Sun Jul 16, 2017 12:13 pm

Morning all,

We use our BN-20 mainly for 'print and cut' textile designs then heat pressed to polo shirts etc - works great :)

Our BN-20 has the metallic ink option but this is pretty useless on textile vinyl.

A customer asked if we could do his logo with shiny silver text on top of the main logo. So, we printed & cut the main logo, heat pressed to the shirt. We then cut the text to be over-layered from silver textile vinyl and heat pressed.

This is still at the experiment stage but I wonder if anyone has managed this successfully - layering on top of printed textile vinyl?

Cheers

You can layer Siser heat transfer vinyl. Don't know about others.

We have done this several times but found the first layer often shrinks.. so now don't cut the over layers till been measured.. If any dye sub inks involved or pre printed shirt then you need a sub block type of vinyl

Enjoy

Thanks Wooly

We discovered the issue of dye bleeding through standard textile vinyl when we pressed to Zoti sports shirts.

You need to use subli-stop type film for dyed polyester garment. It has a blocking layer to prevent the dye from bleeding through the film.
