EGX 300 windows 7 32 bit issue

Post by fizzygas » Fri Sep 08, 2017 11:23 am

Hi,
I am new to the forum and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have recently purchased a EGX 300 with no software supplied with the machine,
I am using a windows 7 laptop 32 bit with a usb parallel cable and have followed the readme installation file.
Following download/setup/then selected pnc/EGX300 and selected USB as the port, select install an error message stated stated this "this machine is unsupported for windows 7"
Since the downloaded driver was for Roland 2.5D for windows 7 (32bit) ver1.40 this has me puzzled.
I looked at LPT as a second option and the port settings are greyed out so not sure which way to go in order to get the driver into the laptop. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance
And finally as I do not have Dr engrave is this is this available to purchase.
Thanks

When installing the driver just select LPT1, USB drivers can only be installed with a plug and play device and as the EGX isn't one it will not allow you to select it. Once installed you can then change it USB.

If you contact your local Roland office they should be able to send you the Dr. Engrave software.
