Re: egx 350

Hi mrtn, We generally use a carbide cutter for the stainless but have to run contact on the tag to stop ghosting with the nose cone. With the diamond it doesnt get deep enough for what the customer wants even with multiple passes unless there is a wider tool than the standard available.

Re: egx 350

Thanks mrtn were trying to get a bit deeper into the metal than scribing as we find customers complain not deep enouhh although its into stainless steel. What would be the best tool to get a deeper cut?

Re: egx 350

Hi Mrtn, we have a egx 300 (not a 350) so thinking it's not powerful enough. With your customer are they user a cutter or burnishing tool to get some depth into the tag? Thanks Mal

egx 350

Hi All we have a egx 300 and are finding it hard to consistently engrave stainless steel pet tags. Wondering whether the egx 350 would suit better as its a heavier machine with a more powerful motor and spindle speed. We've see a gravograph with a rotary .003 burnishing tool and it seems to get a de...

I engrave pet tags as a home business but it is doing my head in at the moment as the tags can varying by up to .5mm in size and it means the jig I have wont hold the item unless I pack it. Does anyone else engrave such items and has a good setup? I'm using an egx 300. I was thinki...

Re: Engraving Stainless Steel Tags

Hi, just to clarify we use a cutter with the spindle as it cuts deeper into the stainless steel. The diamond drag doesn't go deep enough unfortunately so the cone was helping with getting a consistent depth until this issue. Only way can see to get around it is to not use the nose cone but the depth...

Engraving Stainless Steel Tags

Hi All, Need help as all of a sudden our EGX 300 is having issues with engraving stainless steel tags. I get cutters from bitsandbits in the USA and they are 80 degree angle for Stainless (4 1/2 inch cutter). I think the issue is the tags we get from our supplier (in USA) seem to be a little more do...
