Re: MDX-15 or MDX-20 Driver question.

Thanks for the detailed reply Patrick. Used the installation link you suggested and have now been able to install the MDX-20, in addition to the existing MDX-15 drivers. :) It would appear that this operation does not seem possible, if you try to install using the original Roland software disks that...

Re: MDX-15 or MDX-20 Driver question.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on all my towers. As well as the current MDX-15 driver, I also have iModela driver on there with no conflicts. It is only when I try to install the MDX-20 driver, it asks me to uninstall the older MDX-15 driver first. As the smaller MDX machines essentially...

Re: MDX-15 or MDX-20 Driver question.

Sadly Kai, even changing the MDX-15 driver port to LPT1 doesn't resolve the issue. When trying to install the MDX-20 driver, I still get the same error message asking that I remove the MDX-15 driver? I have tried this with both the antivirus and firewalls shut down just in case they were having an a...

MDX-15 or MDX-20 Driver question.

I own two MDX-15 machines, which have the appropriate drivers installed - no problems. I have just acquired an unused larger MDX-20 machine. When I tried to install the driver for this, it came up with an error message of 'older MDX-15 driver installed' and asking to remove this first?? Ques...

Re: iModela enhancements

In case anyone ever wondered what the Delcam iModela rotary attachment could create... P5280901_small.jpg Sadly Delcam is no more, but the rotary attachment and flip attachment are so well built, they are unlikely to ever wear out. We also ran this project on one of our bigger MDX machines that spor...

Re: iModela enhancements

The little iModela has the same problem as the smaller MDX machines, which is essentially a reliance on double sided tape to hold down the work piece. Works great until you have warm weather such as we have had recently, which causes the tape adhesion to fail and the work piece to break free. The so...

iModela enhancements

Even though I own bigger MDX machines, I am still a keen fan of the little iModela machines. They work brilliantly with wax and take up such a small space in the workshop. I actually own three of these little gems. After what seems like an endless search, I finally managed to acquire not only one of...

Re: Scanner compatability

In the Techsoft documentation, the black metal block is described as the tool setup override device Patrick Every MDX-15 / 20 I've ever seen had one of these metal blocks so assumed it was a Roland rather than a Techsoft device? The block allows you to bring the tool down using the power buttons, cl...

Scanner compatability

Quick question: Does the scanner attachment off the MDX-15 fit the MDX-20 and vice versa?? i.e. is it exactly the same item. Someone in another part of the country wants to borrow mine for a project, so thought I'd check first before paying out on postage charges... Another quick question whi...
