Thanks for getting back. At this time I have replaced the whole z axis and spindle for a more upto date system.

How to remove z axis motor on Roland 2300

Hi. I have a problem with the z axis motor on my Roland 2300. I have stripped the spindle side down to get to the motor but can’t figure how the motor is connected to the metal support bracket. From what I can see there are know fittings to release the motor. Can anyone help me out here. I am also l...

Hi, I was just interested in the motor wiring. But I have now removed all the old control boards and replaced with more upto date motion controller. So I am ok with the wiring now. Thanks. Michael

Conversion to Marh3

Hi, I have a old 2300 engraving machine which I would like to convert to mach3. As anyone done this conversion if so do you know if it’s just possible to use the machines axis motors with newer drivers and what is the best way to power the spindle. Thanks. Michael

Thanks, so the only formats Roland software will import from 3rd part software is Dxf. The zeroing of the machine is the same as per the milling machine. Thanks, will play around later with the machine and see if it’s ok.

Hi Kai. I have both the programs you posted. But use them with mach3. In mach3 you set the machine zero in that program. But how do I set the zero or starting point with the Roland. With the milling machine. I place the work on the bed, zero the cutting tool on the work surface and zero the machine ...
