Re: need help with cutting thick material vs-640

Not bad but for the right result = no flop in the material the table needs to be the same height as the printer bed
The material needs to stay flat as it goes in and out whilst cutting.. by staying flat and not any bend over the bed makes the registration better.

Re: need help with cutting thick material vs-640

Having said that see you don't have a take up so possibly use the black cross beam for the end plates to sit on

Re: need help with cutting thick material vs-640

Not shown but I would shape the bottom of the end plates so it sits on the rollers at the rear and the take up bar at the front and a snug fitting to the base of the bed casing. So with the tubes fitted it's self supporting and ridged enough. Nice and easy to remove and refit. Bit of cardboard to dr...

Re: need help with cutting thick material vs-640

should i make a bed ?

Probably yes this takes away the media weight and the bowing over the bed but still use as many rollers as you can. Bit of warmth will help
I did this with a graphtec with good results for difficult media. Then had the chance of a flat bed cutter and all problems gone.

Re: How do you slice a large image into 3 sections

You can send the graphic full size around 100 dpi and the rip will create the panels Inc overlap if required. Or you can copy the art 3 times and trim down Include any overlaps or over size for fitting. Send 3 files to print.. I prefer the latter as I feel I have more control of where the joins are ...

Re: Destructible or void material for solvent print

Oh well fair try the material is for thermal printing really your idea of a printable clear on top will work. But will reduce the distructable natutre of the film. Well worth a try. Think it has to be fitted for quite a while before the glue bonds properly.
