Re: Best source of images

Hi Julio, I see some nice replies here, and I see Adam posted the mother of all sites: http://www.bluevertigo.com.ar/ The site it's self doesn't have any images on it, however the site is a web ring and has links to many great sites, both free and comercial, and links to sites that supply images, fo...

Re: 220ml and 440ml ink usage

Hi Darryl, In Versaworks if you goto 'View' and then 'Job Log', this will list all the jobs you've done. Any that have been ripped will give you an accurate overall usage of ink. However, if you double click on the job it will open up a new window and give you a break down of each individual colour ...

Re: Varibale Data

Hi Matt, I'm trying to visualise what you're trying to do here. Lets address #1 first. Do you need 10 variable data fields, or 1 variable date field that contains the numbers 1 through 10? For example; You have 1 image that will be duplicated 10 times and each duplicate will have a different number ...

Re: Corel Vs Adobe

Hi Mal, Ideally you should change the profile but turning it off might give you better results. In regards to the hair line you're getting, is it a perfectly printed line or does it look like over spray? If it's spray, then it could be static. A lot of banners are wound tightly and it causes a large...

Re: VS540 Crop Mark Problem

Hi guys, Just a thought, are you guys trying to perform the cut straight after laminating? I've encounted an issue before where the laminate film has some "silvering" on and the optical eye just picks up a reflection and doesn't find the black crop marks. Leaving the laminated print a couple of hour...

Re: Colour matching advice

Hi Chris, Doing as Tom has suggested will certainly help. However please be aware that using Roland EcoSol Max Profiles with Colorific Elite inks will result in incorrect colours. The colour of the inks themselfs will differ, for example, if we try and produce a red, the EcoSol Max profile might tel...

Re: Wallpaper for inside restaurant

Hi Naomi, When we did the wall in our reception, we trimmed the excess of each sheet but in versaworks we setup the tiles so each one had a 3mm overlap. We also used the "place alternate" function to ensure the colours matched all the way across the print. To fit the media, as Marc Jenkin pointed ou...

Re: Glue remover

Hi there Kev,

At the Academy we use Rapid Remover which is available from rapidtac.com and various suppliers. You might find that most modern day washing up liquids contain chemicals that work great for getting glue off though.

Kind regards,

Re: Do you charge for artwork?

Receiving thumb nails taken off the internet and the request to enlarge them is still my favourite request :) I hear this arguement quite a lot when I'm teaching courses at our academy, and I'm a firm believer that you should always charge for your work. As people have already said, how much you cha...
