Looking to buy very old Roland Plotter (but which one)

Post by pete_wilde » Mon May 26, 2014 11:13 pm

Hi,

I have just watched a demo on youtube of the Roland 880 plotter, which I found simply amazing, perhaps because it was in use before I was even born (I'm a 90's kid).

I really want to get one and have seen 2 plotters advertised for sale (2nd hand)

One is an 880, whilst the other is a 1150.

I would have thought that the higher the number the better the device, but the 880 is actually more expensive.

Generally speaking, which is the better model?

Many thanks,

Pete

The 880 is an older model than the 1150.

Usually the price is down to the condition, you will be able to work either machine from Windows XP.

I can not kick myself enough for throwing away several old DXY plotters I had with some small faults :)
