SP 540i tubes ink blocked

Post by sleekdesign » Tue Aug 28, 2018 3:47 pm

Experiencing some real difficulties with the Versacamm SP 540i as the print test only shows the yellow and magenta whereas the cyan and black are not coming through at all. Unable to print anything and am unable to understand what could be causing the problem except for the tubes going to the head that looks dried up or blocked??? Any ideas

A few questions for this one -

How long since the machine last printed cyan/black?

What ink type are you using?

It could be a damper issue, the only way the ink lines are usually blocked is by using different ink types.

About 2 months ago. Was printing fairly ok but not at 100% now nothing is coming through for CYAN and Black and even the yellow and Magenta is not at 100%

We switched over to DigiMax after using Nazdar for some years

We had not changed Damper on the SP before

Am worried now about the possibility of the inks blocking the lines

I would begin with captop and then dampers, you could flush the lines to determine if this is an issue.

There are two ways to flush, using four cleaning carts you can perform a headwash, or you can insert a cleaning carts into the line to flush and perform a couple of powerful cleans, you should then see the line/damper empty of coloured ink and run clear.
