what could be causing my poor print beside maybe needing new black & yellow print heads??
Blotchy print
Re: Blotchy print
Ok so I got out some tshirt vinyl have printed the same long and I was amazed at the results. In comparison it's flawless. Obviously I selected "garment heat transfer" profile. But can't see how when I'm supposed to have the correct profile for the LG AIR REALESE media it's still looking really bad
Re: Blotchy print
With the vinyl try slowing down the head speed and ensuring that the full width scan option is on, the vinyl is not accepting the ink as fast as the heat transfer media.
Re: Blotchy print
Heya Kai,
After meters or test prints today running different media types and flicking between the following presets to see if there's a sweet spot ANYWHERE to help identify the issue.
Presets:
Pre-Press Europe
Max Impact
Sign & Display
Also cranking the printing temperature up to 45degreees C from mid 30s I can found the Clean adhesived air release LG media I've been trying to get a good print on for months has got a sweeter spot in the standard settings
Printing Heat: 45degrees C
Media Type: GPPG - White Glossy Photo Paper
Quality: High Quality
Colour Managment Preset: Sign&Display
These settings combined have given me my best print yet however it's not up to my eyes standard. Maybe the Roland VP-540 isn't a good as my eye expects? But the graininess is tight as I've seen it in the LG media so far. But would like to think that the LG profile APS supplied me should be the "Media Type" I should be clicking - doesn't sound right?... I will try you suggestion now with the LG profile in media type if I can find out where I select those options you mentioned.

Re: Blotchy print
LG is not my preference get a sample of metamark md5 but really need to see a test print first
Re: Blotchy print
With the heads speed try some different iterations 500,400,300,200 to see if there is any improvement.
Re: Blotchy print
Kai putting full media scan on made a huge difference! Even keeping default print head speed on.
Thank you.
I was getting ready to throw this printer in the skip
