Destructible or void material for solvent print

Post by CABDutch » Wed Jan 24, 2018 7:59 pm

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a destructible or void type material for use with ecosolvent printers? My customer is only after a small quantity and would prefer a matt silver finish but is there anything at all that would be suitable?

TIA.

Thanks Wooley, I have just given them a call and they said that people have used it for solvent print but obviously it isn't covered for use on my BN-20 so there are no profiles etc. but I think it will be worth a try.

Some default profile will probably work. If not all.

I don't seem to be having any luck with printing on the void material, I can't seem to get the ink to adhere, it takes forever to dry and even then it rubs off easily. The only way I can think of doing it is to laminate the silver void material with clear vinyl and then print onto the clear vinyl, have you any ideas at all?

that would totally ruin the point of the destructible material!

I have had great success using ultra destruct material in the past. Can't remember exactly where I got it but probably All Print Supplies in the UK. They have some listed on their website, only matt/gloss or clear though, not silver.

If Roland OEM ink does not stick at all then the material is not mean for printing with eco-solvent ink. Screen only perhaps.

Oh well fair try the material is for thermal printing really your idea of a printable clear on top will work. But will reduce the distructable natutre of the film. Well worth a try. Think it has to be fitted for quite a while before the glue bonds properly.
