Roland EGX-20engraves involuntary line

Post by Scramjet » Fri Apr 06, 2018 1:27 am

Hello

I have a Roland EGX-20. it was working good engraving an aluminium plaque suddenly instead of engave a letter it engraved a straight line, then gone back to the normal engrave place. It is random, since i repeated same engrave file and sometimes does it at half of engrave, sometimes at end, in random places and does it 1 time or 2 times per plaque, is like it loses its main and draws a line and then goes back to continue normally. What can it be? i switched PC with fresh new pc and software installation and did same thing. Do you have had same issue? does it have solution? It happens in Y axis. (table axis)

Thanks in advance for any clue

From the description it sounds like the nosecone (if you are using one) needs to be cleaned, it could be that the nose cone isn't lifting back up causing the tool to remain down which will causes a line between the two points.
