Cutters for Modela MDX-15

Post by bris » Fri Nov 03, 2017 12:00 pm

Hi,
Please could you help me?
I have purchased a second hand Roland Modela MDX-15 machine. Please could you tell me what diameter of the cutters the machine uses? Please could you recommend any places where I can purchase cutters for the machine?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you

What size collet came with the machine? If you don’t have one contact your Roland dealer and get a 3 mm collet. You can mount any 3 mm and smaller diameter bit with a 3 mm shank in it.

Thank you for your reply. I have got a 3 mm collet. I rang to Roland office today but haven't got any advice on cutters, it looks like they know as much as i do.

mrtn,
Thank you very much for your help.
I want to engrave Arial font on engraving laminate 1.6mm. Please could you advise what cutter i need and what degrees the tip should be?

The smaller the blade the more precise engraving you can do. 0.13 mm flat is the smallest I’ve seen for engraving. The angle depends on the nature of the job. The “sharper” the tip the easier it is to maintain font thickness when the plate/table is uneven.
