MPX-90 Font Engraving Error

Post by M&MEngravePrint » Wed May 16, 2018 9:41 am

Hi,

I'm having some trouble with engraving certain fonts. Mainly Times New Roman/Baskerville but some others also. I've attached a photo showing the problem. When running a fill engraving the machine engraves lines above the text that shouldn't be there. I've reinstalled Metaza and tried a different head. I can't work out what is wrong with it.

Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions for a solution?

Thanks,
Martin

Is this with a contour fill or a normal fill?

Does it work with other fonts?

It looks like a misinterpretation of the fill and it's impacting off the area.

Which version of MetazaStudio are you using?

Version 1.4 it says on the CD

Other fonts such as Lucida Calligraphy and cursive fonts work okay. It's mainly Times New Roman/Baskeville/ and fonts of a similar style.

The latest version is 2.31 you can download the updater from here.

Try the update as it may just solve the issue.

Thanks for your help.

I updated Metaza using the link provided but I'm still having the same problem.

If you use the standard fill instead of the island fill or use it as a contour do you get the same output?

Also what does it look like zoomed in on the preview?

Standard fill and contour engrave okay.

It also looks okay in the preview.

I've found it depends on the preceding letter when using the island fill. 'y' doesn't engrave correctly with 'T' preceding it, but it does if 'L' precedes it. It also effects other letters, but it will take me time to go through them.

I'll try to avoid using the effected fonts as much as possible. If you have any other suggestions I would be very grateful.
