Nose Cone engraving

Post by jopatengraving » Sat May 04, 2019 4:47 am

Hi All,

Any suggestions.

Engraving a pet tag using nose cone and 2 passes but some letters/numbers don't engrave all the way through leaving a pinkish colour on the alloy in spots. If i redo another pass just on the letters/numbers that didn't engrave properly at the same depth as before it engraves them. Why would that happen and anyway to fix it?

Thanks

Could be an uneven coating on the material, so just have to engrave deeper or always run the third pass.

Also material getting engraved out could be getting under the nose cone, so it bumps along the surface causing uneven depth.
