MDX-540 Post Processor

Post by Marlamuth » Fri Mar 23, 2018 2:40 pm

Hi

is there anywhere I can get the post processor for MDX-540?Preferrably as *.ctl. I'm trying to use Solidworks CAM 2018 but I can't export the gcode correctly.

If the exact post processor isn't availible, does anybody know if there is another I can use? Fanuc?

SolidWorks CAM 2018
Fanuc 6M,11M, 0M etc are all similar.
Have a look at the MDX-PRO2_PRO_NC_CODE_EN manual that came with your machine, then compare. NC files are just TEXT.
MDX-540 VPanel will accept any Text file and long as it is valid NC codes.
These guys at Hawk Ridge have nice videos.

The default code shown for the Hass looks similar too.

Whatever you do in your CAM, you should look in your Roland SRP Player and make a note of Spindle Speed, Feedrate, Depth of Cut and side cut for the tool size and material. Use these in your CAM and you should cut well. With experience you can modify the % over rides on the machine and in turn use these new values in your CAM.
