Autodesk Fusion 360 with Roland DG milling machines

Post by Patrick Thorn » Fri Feb 01, 2019 1:37 pm

We have quite a few enquiries from users with Fusion 360, unfortunately none of us are using it as we have our included SRP Player software.

We do know that our NC Code is similar to Generic G-Code or Fanuc, however, there s a "Roland" post processor inside Fusion 360 that you can configure for your machines.

If you are into and using Fusion 360 with your Roland's, why not add your experiences here for others to follow.

HSM Works is the core CAM engine Autodesk installed into Fusion 360.

We did tests with HSM on the Roland machines and there is a bit of information here.

I saw Thanos Makris who has some nice Fusion 360 CAM videos to watch.
(I say watch as I do not speak Greek).

In this video he constructs a cylinder with spiral pockets and mills them on his ZCL-40A rotary axis on his MDX-40A machine.

Very Nice seeing Roland machines in action.

SRM-20 replaced MDX-15/20, however, MDX-15/20 worked in 0.025mm steps in RML only.
SRM-20 works in 0.01mm steps, same as MDX-40.
Use MDX-40 post format in the machine selection.
It will make the right sizes on your SRM-20.
