Jumps between z-origins

Post by Marlamuth » Thu Jan 11, 2018 3:54 pm

I have a problem with our MDX-540 or is it the SRP Player? I set up an stl, set the origin (RML) and send it for milling. The mill starts out just fine the first surfacing pass. But the next pass it goes to the machine zero instead of offsetting the user zero and moves around in x and y. When starting a new pass the lead-in looks alright, but directly after lead-in it goes back to the machine zero again.

The offset is 152mm so it has nothing to do with the tool.

Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

This sounds like you have run out of cutting stroke.
If you say the Z is at 152mm when starting, then the maximum you can cut is 3mm.
If it is more, then the safety "Out of limits" feature, makes a Z retraction for every pass until the program is either completed of stopped by the user.
Can you tell us who and where you are.
