Expansion port on MDX-540

Post by Willy_Poelmans » Fri Feb 27, 2015 10:15 am

Hello,

I own a Roland MDX-540 and use it most of the time with G-code.

The Roland documentation mentions the codes :
M12/M13 : air blower on/off
M14/M15 : chip cleaner on/off
M16/M17 : light on/off

Does anyone know if these commands set/reset a signal on some pin of the expansion port?
I would like to use these commands to operate such devices but I don't know how these should be connected.

Best regards,
Willy Poelmans

Hi Willy
The NC Code reference manual, covers all machines in a general form and is not specific to any model.
These M-Codes are not supported on the the current machines MDX-540, MDX540S, MDX40A, SRM-20 or MDX-500, MDX-650 that support NC mode. Only on a couple of specialised machines that are only available in Japan have these options.
