MDX-20 flashing LEDs- spindle error?

Post by lawmate » Mon May 18, 2015 6:54 pm

Hi

I have a MDX-20 that keeps stopping working. It normally happens at the end of a job, just as the spindle is about to stop, all three LEDs start flashing with about a half second frequency. I have read in other parts of the forum that this might be because the spindle cable isn't working but I have tried to clean it and even tried replacing it, but now it can't get beyond about 3 or 4 movements before it has this error. This is fatal as it means the machine has to be restarted and the Z axis zeroed again, often with the X and Y axes losing their position.

Does anyone know why it is doing this? It seems to be getting gradually worse.

Many thanks

Laurence

Hi Laurence,

This could be a few things, most likely the spindle motor but I have seen communication issues do funny things.

Best to raise a tech support ticket and they can help you out.
