ZCL-540 Z-Sensor detection issue

Post by Ella » Mon Sep 21, 2015 6:51 am

Hi,
Wondering if anyone has had problems detecting the z-sensor on their Modela II MDX540? I am trying to install a ZCL-540 and when I try to 'detect center of rotation' I cannot get passed the error message "attach the sensor cable to the z-origin sensor". We have checked our cable to see if it passes a current and it appears to be fine. Any tips/work-arounds on this issue would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers,
E

I can't remember for sure but is there a prompt for any input? That sensor cable does nothing to the machine until it makes contact with the tool, at which point it completes the circuit. Until then the machine is not aware of its presence.

If the Cable is connected to the front panel, plus to the Z Sensor post, as shown in the ZCL540 manual, you are ready to go.
As long as the Spindle cover and the main covers are closed. It is an automatic feature as all covers must be closed.
There is usually a prompt in the Status on the Vpanel, and on Handy Panel
