Roland BN20 and waterslide decal paper

Post by Dodgersdecals » Tue Aug 06, 2019 12:21 pm

Hi everyone
I'm looking at the BN20 with the white ink.
My question is I've found waterslide decal paper which is compatible with the eco solvent inks, but I need to know which version of the ink is being used
Eco max... Eco max 2....Eco max 3

The paper supplier is Dr Decal Mr Hyde from Australia

Cheers Roger

More than likely it will be ECO SOL MAX, as this is most widely used worldwide.

Thanks Kai tried contacting them through that site with no luck
Another question I'd like to ask is. Is the BN20 capable of double pass printing as I've read it's available in versaworks program?

Due to the lack of a heater on ther machine, the overprint feature is not supported on the BN-20. Larger machines have extra heaters/dryers for this output.

I make waterslide decals so need a printer which can take over from the outdated Alps MD printers which I'm using. I would need to be able to do undercoat white with colour on top. Most of my work would require some of the print to remain white when the colour is laid on top of the white. Which printer would suit my needs best?

You can print White and CMYK in one pass with the BN-20, you just need to find a suitable material and you should be good to go! I'd get some samples and then go and see one of the Roland dealers to do some tests...

Thanks for that I've found a dealer who's done some samples but didn't turn out has I asked
I've ordered some samples of blue backed decal paper from a company in Australia who said it can be used on the BN20.
If I can get the white right it would be ideal for me
Would need to find a course close to me
