Smart for-two as Lightning McQueen & questions

Post by Rhody » Mon Aug 04, 2014 10:01 pm

Hi Guys! I'm trying to expand my wrapping techniques.

So far I have had 2 costumers wich wanted a roof wrap, everything goes fine, I cut the vinyl with some extra CM's so everything will still fit even if somethings go wrong.
But when I reach the antenna rubber i get stuck, some antenna rubbers aren't removable and are so old it will crumble when I try to pull it up.

So far I've always managed to make it look fine. But fine is not good enough for me.

Do you guys have any tips on how I should handle it? Here are 2 pictures.
- The first one is a Hyundai Getz, they wanted a red roof to match with the red interior. I also put a little detail on the back, maybe it gives someone here inspiration :D
- The second one is my own car and was also my first attempt on two-toning/wrapping on my own.
I don't have a picture of the third one...
Used vinyl: 900 Avery Tomato Red & Gloss Black/i]

This is the smart roadster, it was my first wrap expirience, I mostly did the heathing part but still, learned alot.
Did it with my old man, and the costumers were two graphic designers :D

And the process:

For striping and full coverage, you can cut shaped pieces of the vinyl to help you cut shapes of the parts you cannot remove.
