Temporary Tattoo Print and Cut Media

Post by Mal » Mon Nov 14, 2011 3:58 pm

Hi all,

A short while ago I was asked if I could go temporary tattoo's, at the time I said "leave it with me" but on that occasion it slipped my mind to get back to the customer until I just had a phone call reminding me  . That doesn't matter as it was an just existing customer with an idea they are working on so no harm done (rule book 1, page 1 - if you say will get back to someone - get back to them :!: :!: ), but I still need to find a media that I can print and cut using a versacamm.

If any of you know such a media, can you please pass on the suppliers details..

Many thanks...

Hi Mal

This came up in the office a few weeks ago as a potential customer asked the same question about the VersaUV...

I think the general concensus was that if you were looking to find a way of producing the rub on transfers then I would say that a VersaCamm or VersaUV printer would not be suitable. Whilst the dried inks are perfectly safe, applying them to the skin would not be recommended.

As for stick on transfers, a thin cast vinyl with a strong glue may be suitable but I wouldn't fancy pulling them off when they were due for removal!

If you need further help with this then please let me know and I shall look forward to catching up with you soon.

Thanks Rob, not the answer I wanted, but thanks all the same....

Ok, so my versacamm is not suitable to make temporary tattoo's... What is? am I able to use my laser or injet printer? if so, I still need a suitable print media...

Any tips anyone?

Mal, I know customers who have used this and it does exactly what it says on the tin! Speak to the guys at TMT and they will glady assist you. I am also sure that you can use your exsisting Laser printer, but I will let them confirm that with you.

"Brizers!!" never heard that before!

As well as TMT I found a company called "The transfer Press" that do temporary tattoo paper. You can't print and cut it but at least it's another customer happy... and after all, that's all that matters....

Rob told me that it would not be recommended to put eco solvent inks onto the skin, but I'll be brave and give it a try!!

Mal, please let me know how it goes. Also please ask The Transfer Press what they recommned before you do it just to be safe.
